Designing, Implementing, and Troubleshooting Multi-layer Switched Networks

CCNP320 : 5 Day Instructor-Led Workshop

Learn advanced skills in building Enterprise-Class switched networks and applications.

This is NOT a Bootcamp!

This course also goes by the course number: BCMSN (3.0)

Professional Level Training for advance skills in building Enterprise-Class switched networks and applications. Integrate Advance Technologies such as VoIP and Wireless. In this course, students will learn how to create an efficient and expandable enterprise network by installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure equipment (especially Catalyst Multilayer Switches) according to the Campus Infrastructure module in the Enterprise Composite Network model. The campus switched network includes converged IP data, IPC (voice), and Airspace WLAN (Wireless) connectivity.

Areas of Focus:

  • Introduction to Campus Networks
  • Defining Virtual Networks (VLANs)
  • Implementing Spanning Tree
  • Implement High Availability in a Campus Environment
  • Wireless Client Access
  • Minimizing Service Loss and Data Theft in a Campus Network
  • Configuring Campus Switches to Support Voice

Hard Hat Lab Technologies:

  • The complete line of Cisco® Router and Access Server products used in the Enterprise-Class Network
  • Cisco® Catalyst™ Switch products used in the Enterprise-Class Network
  • Cisco® LightWeight Access Points and AeroSpace™ Wireless LAN Controllers
  • 10G, Gigabit, Fast Ethernet, WAN connectivity and ISP Connectivity

Each student is in charge of a pod of hardware consisting of Cisco® Routers, Catalyst® Switches, as well as all related connectivity technologies. HardHat™ Lab Equipment List: Cisco® 2800, 2600XM, 3600 routers. Catalyst® 6509 Data Center Switches, 2950/2960, and 3550/3560/3750 switches, as well as all related connectivity technologies.

In addition, by exposing the “Best Practices” of Design, Configuration and Troubleshooting for each target technology area, the student will learn to do things “The Right Way, the First Time” and learn how to identify “Hidden Issues” before they materialize. To gain confidence and independence in what has been learned; the hands-on exercises in the Interface HardHat™ programs do not follow a prescribed 'recipe-style lab' as many courses do, rather, the labs are ‘Evolutions’ which build to finality with a complete solution, while making the student 'think' in the process. Hands-on time is emphasized and each Lab Evolution engages the student to design, implement and test the full application of the critical technologies being studied. Each HardHat™ student will configure their solutions using live systems and hardware and will always learn directly from our CCIE® Instructors. Upon exit of any Interface HardHat™ Experience, the student will be empowered to immediately apply what they have learned within their own environments."
