Four days of intense hands-on with the full feature set of SharePoint

This four-day exclusive course takes you deep into the features of Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) v3 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS). You’ll have hands-on experience with every major feature and explore multiple case studies to solve real-world issues.

Audience:
This course is for anyone who needs a deep, hands-on knowledge and experience with the full features and benefits of SharePoint: to know how best to use SharePoint, to create sites and site collections, and to plan and design collaboration sites and portals.
·         Advanced and “Power” users
·         SharePoint Managers
·         Enterprise-level planners
·         Project managers
·         Webmasters and Web content development teams

Note: Server Administrators and .NET Application Developers: this course is not about installation or about writing code, but it is an excellent choice to bring you up to speed on the full feature set of WSS and MOSS.
Prerequisites:
We do not require previous SharePoint knowledge. We do expect you are very familiar with Microsoft Office. Our classes are usually a mix of Business Analysts, Webmasters, Systems Engineers and Application Developers.
DAY ONE
Immersion
Most SharePoint training courses start off learning piece by piece: here is a list. Next, here is a library. Next, here is a web part. Or they focus on one particular piece of SharePoint – such as its document management features – leaving you lacking a full understanding of what SharePoint really is.

We begin instead with real-world SharePoint examples. You'll see real-world business examples of Office integration, dashboards, document version control and content approval. You’ll learn how the Workflow features formalize business processes. You’ll see SharePoint used for internal collaboration and also used for an external, public-facing website. You’ll see how SharePoint can integrate with external data, and how new Web Parts can make it easy to view your business data. You’ll see custom InfoPath Forms used to get data into SharePoint, and see the impact of Information Management Policies and custom Content Types. In short, we answer the question: why would an organization use SharePoint?
Then, we step back, and over the next few days you learn how to plan and build everything you just saw.
